RATING

Business Rates are chargeable on the occupation (and sometimes ownership) of commercial property.

It is a tax calculated by reference to the Rateable Value of a property with such Rateable Value reflecting the rental value of the premises. Business Rate Consultancy is a complex field of surveying practice, as procedure and valuations are determined by market analysis, statute, case law and precedent.

With our experience and understanding we provide expert advice on clients’ liability and seek to minimise this wherever possible using a variety of methods.

We have saved significant sums of money for clients. Savings can be achieved by securing the reliefs offered by the billing authorities, submitting and negotiating appeals against Rateable Values, either on a permanent or temporary basis and by liaising with the billing authority where circumstances change or where billing authorities have made errors. We are also able to check rating bills and refunds to ensure accuracy.
