VALUERS SUPPORT DEVON COLLABORATIVE LAW GROUP
The specialist family lawyers group ‘Resolution’ has set up a group of collaborative lawyers, who are trained to help couples facing divorce or separation work through what are often complex issues which can, of course, involve property matters.
The Devon Group of Collaborative Lawyers was formally launched on 13 March 2008. The process of working ‘collaboratively’ involves the parties to the relationship breakdown setting the agenda themselves and working with the support and advice of lawyers; and together signing an agreement not to go to Court.
Other non legal professions can be involved and for Drew Pearce this would be in providing valuation and property related advice.
Drew Pearce are delighted to support this new initiative and to demonstrate this both Martin Woodhead and Lloyd Smale have successfully applied for Affiliate Membership of Resolution as expert witnesses able to provide valuation advice in a manner supportive of the collaborative law objective to assist couples in arriving at a fair solution to property matters.
Speaking on behalf of the Devon Collaborative Law Group, Emma Benyon-Tinker comments, ‘The Devon Group have seen a rapidly growing interest in using the Collaborative process to resolve issues arising from relationship breakdown. We are delighted to build up links with like-minded professionals which will assist our clients in reaching fair solutions without recourse to court proceedings. Our congratulations to Lloyd Smale and Martin Woodhead for achieving Affiliate membership of Resolution’.
Details of the lawyers who are trained in collaborative process can be found from the resolution website, or from Emma Benyon-Tinker, who is the head of the Devon Collaborative Law Group on 01392 457297.
