John qualified in 1971 and worked for a period of time with two large London firms of Chartered Surveyors based in central London which included General Practice and Valuation work throughout the country as well as Landlord & Tenant plus commercial property management.  He also spent a year in Paris dealing with property development and investment.  In 1979 he moved to the Westcountry with his family to head up the General Practice department of a multi office firm of Chartered Surveyors.

In 1986 he moved to Drew Pearce and became a partner in 1989 where he is currently in overall charge of the General Practice department and specialises in the valuation of all types of commercial property, Landlord & Tenant Act work both for tenants and landlords, property investment and commercial property management for a number of clients with varying sized portfolios. He also deals with commercial agency in conjunction with Mike Henderson.

His current interests outside of the Partnership are walking, reading and attempting to play golf.
